Jessica Swale

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Jessica set up Red Handed with Katie Bonna in 2006. She trained at Central School of Speech and Drama and the University of Exeter. Credits for Red Handed include THE BELLE'S STRATAGEM, THE RIVALS, starring Celia Imrie, MAD KINGS AND ENGLISHMEN (writer/director), THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, TWELFTH NIGHT, THE GLASS TOWER by Katie Bonna and the London premiere of Judith Thompson’s PALACE OF THE END, which won a listing of London’s Top Ten of 2010. She will be directing our 2012 production at Southwark Playhouse.

Other recent credits include BEDLAM at Shakespeare's Globe, WINTER for Theatre Newfoundland, Canada, FINDING ALICE (UK National Tour), HOUSE OF SPECIAL PURPOSE (RADA), MAN OF MODE, ONE TURBULENT AMBASSADOR, a new play by Robin Soans, for LAMDA. and various plays as Associate Director at Out of Joint and Shakespeare's Globe. Jessica is also a director for Youth Bridge Global, an International NGO, for whom she has worked in Bosnia-in-Herzegovina and in the Marshall Islands, directing bilingual Shakespeare productions, including THE TEMPEST (2011), MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (2010) and A COMEDY OF ERRORS (2008). She is currently writing her first 'proper' play, BLUE STOCKINGS, in conjunction with RADA and the National Theatre Studio.

Jessica is the author of best-selling DRAMA GAMES: For Classrooms and Workshops, and her new book DRAMA GAMES: For Devising is due for release in Winter 2011 (both Nick Hern Books). She is a nominee for the Evening Standard Award's BEST DIRECTOR 2011.

Peter Huntley
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

Peter is a 2010/2011 Stage One Bursary recipient. Peter was a 2009/10 recipient of a Stage One Apprenticeship for New Producers and placed with Sonia Friedman Productions and the Really Useful Theatre Company. He is currently producing FLOYD COLLINS at Southwark Playhouse, followed by Red Handed's 2012 production there in April.

Over the course of his apprenticeship Peter worked on La Cage Aux Folles (West End and Broadway), Jerusalem, Legally Blonde, All My Sons, La Bête, Love Never Dies,Priscilla Queen of the Desert, A View from the Bridge (Broadway), A Little Night Music (Broadway) and The Wizard of Oz. His apprenticeship ended in November 2010 and he hopes to begin producing with established producers as a co-producer and is currently developing his own productions with several writers and directors.

In 2006 Peter produced a hit series of Singalongs (Theatre Museum) and in 2009 the acclaimed Austentatious,(Landor) and was associate producer for the London Shakespeare Workout's Tim Williams' Awards. In 2010 he produced Fashion Show (V&A) and Snappy Title (Cochrane) a charity concert of material from new musicals. Directing includes Sondheim Society Young Performer of the Year Award (Venue, Leicester Square) and two Snappy Title concerts (Pigalle Club).

He has honorary membership of the Sondheim Society; sits on the management board of theatreVOICE.com; and helped curate video content for Theatre & Performance galleries at the V&A.
